In physically constricted urban spaces, printing, bookselling and all the associated activities were organized in intricate topographical patterns. Several chapters explore the communities of printers and booksellers around St. Paul's Cathedral and its neighbourhood in the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
