Summary
Contends that antisemitism is not only an additional component of modern Islamic fundamentalism, but constitutes the core of it. Discusses Islamic fundamentalism in Egypt from Nasser's period to the present, the jihadist ideology of Hamas, and the events of 9/11. Focuses on the Muslim Brotherhood, founded in 1928 in Egypt, which, in the context of the worldwide economic crisis, has rediscovered the idea of jihad and inspired contemporary movements such as Al-Qaida and Hamas. Criticizes analyses by German researchers who disregarded the dimension of antisemitism in Islamic fundamentalism, as well as the role of the Mufti of Jerusalem in the 1930s-40s, whose cooperation with Nazi Germany torpedoed solutions to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict from his time to the present day. Concludes that the main goal of the global eliminatory anti-Zionism of the Arab world is the annihilation of the Jewish state.
