Summary
Views present-day European antisemitism as the sum of old, extreme right-wing antisemitism, new left-wing and anti-imperialist antisemitism, and radicalized Muslim antisemitism. All three forms of antisemitism apply old stereotypes in relation to the new context of the Middle East conflict. This conflict has become part of mainstream European discourse since the outbreak of the second Intifada in the year 2000 and the increase in Arab anti-Israel propaganda that followed. Discusses, inter alia, what characterizes antisemitic Israel-critique. Seeks a European, especially German and Austrian, position in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which does not deny those countries' responsibility for the Holocaust and clearly condemns Arab-Muslim terrorism, whilst taking a critical stance on Israel's policy vis-à-vis the Palestinians.
