- Summary
- This study is an exploration of the sung poetry of Tajik Badakhshan, also known as Autonomous Region of Gorno-Badakhshan or simply Pamir, populated by Nizari Ismaili Muslims. It presents an analysis of the different poetical genres and performance-genres of the minstrel tradition of Badakhshan. The great bulk of the poetry presented in this study was recorded in the houses of the musicians.
