The construction of the Three Gorges dam in China will involve the relocation of more than 1.3 million people over a period of 17 years. This book examines the factors influencing the sustainability of the Three Gorges rural resettlement, and the problems and coping strategies of the relocation program. The author uses geographical information systems, interviews, social surveys, and documentary analysis to analyze the different dimensions of the resettlement.
