- "In almost 20 years of working as a sculptor, Schneider has continually endeavored to work on a deceleration of experience and the perception and temporalization of space. His "spaces" - Haus u r or Die Familie Schneider - are attempts, among others, to make apparent the temporalization of space, to artificially reproduce the "traces of time" (by the means of art), ergo, creating a spatial awareness of the very concept of "ruins." One can read the decay of time in ruins; ruins convey a temporality that is not congruent with their respective historicity. By way of ruins, we are made aware that perception, insight, and memory might all be instruments (and also measuring instruments) of time."--Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary website.
