- Description
- xi, 190 pages, 12 unnumbered pages of plates : illustrations, maps; 24 cm
- Summary
- Using a journalistic approach to the study of the Spanish-American War, the author provides some memorable portraits of the colorful officers who decided the outcome of the decisive naval battles of war at Manila Bay and Santiago de Cuba. Along with the American officers, the author also provides sympathetic portraits of several Spanish officers including Admirals Patricio Montojo and Pasqual Cervera. This work details a war in which victory was determined as much by leadership as by the technology of the American Steel Navy.
