- Contains reflections on Judaism, the Holocaust, Jews, Christians, life, and the world. Goodman-Thau, born in Vienna in 1934, fled in December 1938 with her family to the Netherlands, where she survived the Holocaust in hiding. In 1956 she emigrated to Israel, where she learned and taught Jewish religion and philosophy. Appointed in 2001 as the first female Rabbi of a liberal Jewish community in Vienna, she had the opporunity to deal again with memories and sites of her childhood.
