Satomi Kawaguchi teaches Japanese and second language acquisition at the University of Western Sydney, Australia, where she was awarded her PhD and the 2009 College of Arts Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning. She is also the coordinator of the Honours Program in Languages and Linguistics. Dr. Kawaguchi has contributed to the recent developments in processability theory, and she has published many journal articles and book chapters on language learning, particularly on Japanese as a second language.
