- Summary
- This book explores the potentiality of new definitions of communication to fundamentally expand our notions of diversity, identity, community, and justice. Its primary thesis is that communication studies is yet to realize its full capacity to make an important and sustain contribution to resolving many of the pressing and perilous problems that the world increasingly faces as our spaces and distances collapse and implode. Through many contemporary examples, the book demonstrates how new definitions of communication can help us revision these problems in ways that promote the collective good. Ultimately, the book endeavors to offer the beginnings of a new vision of communication studies.-- Publisher description.
