Summary
A history of Treblinka, dwelling on the perpetrators of the mass murder - the SS officers and the guards who operated this killing center. Not all of them were sadists or antisemites, and some, including the second commandant Franz Stangl, experienced psychological problems while serving in Treblinka; but the Nazi killing machine equalized them with outright sadists (like Kurt Franz) and transformed them into cruel killers. Describes the process of mass murder in Treblinka and the operation of elimination of the corpses that had been buried in the camp and nearby, carried out in 1943 under the supervision of the SS.
