Summary
Fourteen-year-old Mimi Jones is more than a little frightened when she sees a news story saying Congress has passed a law that children from lower-income families will be taken from their parents. Mimi and her friend Brittney are violently snatched from Mimi's home and taken to the middle of nowhere, where a band of teenagers and children are being held against their will. When they discover that they are to be killed because their parents make less than $50,000 a year, Mimi and her new friends must devise a plan to overtake their leaders and escape before time runs out.
