Summary
"Perec's work offers, such as Baudelaire, but under more immediately accessible, an inventory of "species space" ascetic experience of a suspension - even output - time : authentically lived during the voyage by freighter to Ellis Island, it is the culmination of the life manual, in the final revelation of the fatal moment which encompasses retrospectively all fiction, and is probably directly stated, almost at the end of the work, as in the short poem "Eternity", one of the two texts have written Perec said without constraints. This is why "I look at the same time the eternal and the ephemeral," the sentence of Revenentes chosen to be the motto of the last chapter of The Life manual, is qualified by Perec "may be the I like most of what I have written." The purpose of this book is to consider all this in mind the writings of Georges Perec - Life manual, of course, but also less popular texts (poetry unconstrained critical prose ...) - to build a coherent reading of this masterpiece of the twentieth century. By combining this perspective the three categories of subject and writing style, we propose to show that the output of time - as unlikely as it is - is clearly to Perec, the end of his writing, in the sense it defines the very experience provided by the literature."--Publisher's website.
