Summary

This large volume, comprising the complete texts of the cycle of forty-eight sacred plays performed in the medieval period during the feast of Corpus Christi in York England, provides students with a clear, notated edition of this fifteenth century literary, religious and theatrical document. The volume includes a historical introduction and notes on context and the text itself, as well as an appendix on dialects and idiom used in the manuscript.
