- This book presented archaeological data of kilns and ceramics from the excavation at kiln sites in the Lan Na region, Northern Siam and proposed new interpretation of decorative pattern as the representation of the cosmological model of the solar system and the Mount Sumeru system which no scholar ever proposed before. Decorative pattern presented on jars, bowls, plates, bottle vases, lidded vessels of any form are not only for decoration purposes but they have functions in creating auspicious relations with supernatural based on the beliefs of potters and ceramic consumers. -- back cover.
