- Summary
- Memoirs of two Holocaust survivors. Pp. 12-20 describe Stefa's experiences in the Holocaust. She was born in Lodz in 1921 as Szejwa Wajngarten, and was interned in the ghetto after the German occupation. In August 1944 she was deported to Auschwitz and then to Bergen-Belsen. Her mother and four siblings perished in the Holocaust. Pp. 51-110 relate Moshe's experiences. He was born in Sosnowiec in 1920 as Moishe Rabinowicz, and was interned in the ghetto after the occupation. He was later transferred to the labor camps of Markstaedt and Bunzlau, and in February 1945 was sent on a death march and transport to Bergen-Belsen. His parents and seven of his nine siblings perished in the Holocaust. Stefa and Moshe were liberated at Bergen-Belsen by the British. They emt and married after the war, and settled in Australia.
