Summary

The English version of the book "Chrześcijaństwo w dziejach Polski i Polaków. 966-2016", which was released by Wydawnictwo Sejmowe on the occasion of the 1050th anniversary of Poland's baptism and the beginning of Polish statehood. Special letters opening our publication were delivered by: the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, the Marshals of the Sejm and the Senate Marek Kuchciński and Stanisław Karczewski, and the Primate of Poland, Fr. Archbishop Wojciech Polak. The following chapters of the book were written by historians: prof. Stanislaw Rosik, prof. Pawel Kras, prof. Dariusz Kupisz, prof. Wieslaw Jan Wysocki, prof. Bohdan Cywinski, prof. Jan Żaryn. The reader will find here maps, photos of works of art and sacral objects obtained from museums and cultural institutions of both Poland and Europe. Carefully prepared descriptions under the illustrations are a valuable supplement to the substantive content of the six historical essays. History lovers will certainly be interested in the calendar decorated with the coats of arms of the former Polish lands at the end of the book.
