- Summary
- The Prix Ars Electronica is the most tradition-steeped media art competition in the world. Announced annually since 1987, because of its continuity and the large number and quality of the submissions it is considered a trend barometer of global media art. With numerous images, texts, and statements by the jury, the book assembles those works that were awarded prizes in 2016 in the categories of Computer Animation / Film / VFX, Digital Communities, Interactive Art, and u19Create Your World. The volume also contains a “best of” list of the Starts Prize awarded for the first time by the European Commission within the scope of Prix Ars Electronica. The highly remunerated competition focused on innovative projects at the interface between science, technology, and art.
