- This grammar is the first description of Emai, an Edoid language of 25-35,000 villagers in southern Nigeria. It incorporates narrative, lexical and grammatical field results. Individual chapters delineate noun and verb phrases, clause character in discourse, clause combinations as well as tone functions. Prominently featured are complex predicates, functionally distinct copulas, double object constructions, and sentence complement types.
