Summary

For Petrobras, the strengthening of cooperatives of collectors and the construction and collection networks, processing and marketing of recyclable materials represent strategic initiatives for the construction of social and environmental sustainability, with expansion of productive insertion opportunities worthy and qualified. Our bet is that, through the collective effort and of organized labor, we can advance further in overcoming the social injustices that plague this population. That's why, since 2003, Petrobras invested around 100 million R$ already in more than 200 projects for this thread, supporting the articulation of networks pickers cooperatives 20 reaching 8 States, involving some 10,000 people and 400 institutions. With a focus on sustainability, the verticalization and the expansion of the productive added value, contribute to the strengthening of the capacity of mobilization, production, management, technological innovation, and infrastructure of joint processing and marketing networks. In all actions aimed at the segment of the scavengers, the Petrobras prioritizes the integration between public policies, institutional actions and initiatives by social organizations to enhance and disseminate efficient and inclusive processes and technologies. So for Petrobras to publication of the learnings generated by the Collector Profession Project sets up a collective effort essential to other groups of collectors avoid going down the same steps. And the University Foundation of Cruz Alta represents an important partnership for the success of our efforts aimed at the emancipation, expansion of productive citizenship and construction of social and environmental sustainability.--Translation from book flap.
