Summary
The work of multimedia artist Niura Machado Horta Bellavinha (b. Belo Horizonte, MG, 1962). travels through several languages: painting, drawing, photography and film. She can be portrayed as an artist working with the concept of "expanded painting." That is to say, although her works surpassed the physical space of the screen, the artist would be, first of all, painter. The new book by Niura Bellavinha, edited by Cobogó in a bilingual version, contains texts by curator and art critic Paulo Herkenhoff. The work proposes an immersion in the universe of the plastic artist, presenting all its significant baroque and contemporary influence and, through images of her works and the texts of Herkenhoff, each chapter makes clear to the reader the creative methods and processes of the artist.
