Summary
This study was conducted in 5 phases: the first 2 before the Yom Kipur War of October 1973 & the following 3 after the war. The May 1973 phase included 1917 respondents; the September 1973 survey is a panel of the May sample with 523 of the May interviewees reinterviewed in September. The November 1973 survey included 642; the December, which was held before the December elections, included 530. The January 1974 survey had 1087 respondents. The field research was conducted by the Israeli Institute for Applied Social Research; the research project was conducted by Asher Arian and Ephraim Turgovnik. ICPSR never released these data except under the special arrangements by which we obtained this preliminary version. The Asher Arian data were sent from Israel via BITNET and transferred to tape.
