Summary
"Atlas of Tartaria: Eurasia on ancient maps: myths, images, spaces" covers the Great Steppe spanning central Russia to neighboring countries in Central Asia. More than 200 maps, created by the people who crossed this territory - Byzantine, West-European, Arabian, Chinese, Persian and Russian - from ancient times to the 1920s, are included in the book. It also includes maps from Scythian, Hunno-Turkic, Kipchak, Mongolian, Tatar, and Russian civilizations - all historical cultures of the Great Steppe. A CD-ROM with additional information is included.
