Summary
Abstract: Employee productivity and reasons for its apparent decline are explored. Suggested reasons include a decrease in several factors: motivation, commitment of the work ethic, loyalty to the company, and desire to work. This thesis runs counter to the theories of behavioral scientists who state that productivity decreases when management has failed to apply current behavioral science to the work situation. the 2 basic objectives explored are: 1) to critically evaluate some of the popular employer behavioral and motivational concepts, and 2) to offer a complete management system called "Reality-centered management." The goal is to assist managers and executives to be more effective and result-oriented by using concrete strategies to improve performance. (kbc).
