- Summary
- The essays discuss themes that touch diachronically on the developments and phenomena that characterise Cypriot prehistory with reference to old and new data, but also address the threat posed to cultural property as a consequence of armed conflict. An issue that holds central place in all papers is the problems that archaeologists face in their research in dealing with a fragmentary archaeological record and the inaccessibility of archaeological information. The essays included in the volume present past archaeological research in the light of new discoveries unearthed over the last four decades in areas under the effective control of the government of Cyprus, and they range chronologically from the Late Epipalaeolithic to the Late Bronze Age.
