Summary
Revealing a bolder side of J.F. Willumsen (1863-1958) than the one we usually see. With this exhibition, ARoS will be stretching the traditional view of Willumsen by focusing on underexposed sides of his many motifs? those sides that were formerly dismissed as kitsch or even bad art, and which occasionally resulted in Willumsen now and again dropping out of Danish art history. The exhibition will e.g. seek to address how Willumsen in many ways was ahead of his time. A number of his best known works will be presented in innovative ways at ARoS.00Exhibition: ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, Aarhus, Denmark (26.11.2016-05.03.2017).
