- In the modern lexicon, a tension exists between the tangible experience of the ?object? and the imaginative, creative nature of ?fantasia?. Taking this tension as a starting point, the interdisciplinary book probes correlations between the creative handling of objects, the self-consciousness of subjects and the concrete and imagined conditions of human beings? social lives. In doing so, it opens new perspectives for the field of Object Studies.
