- "The original Lue data reproduced here were recorded by Gedney in notebooks along with the informant's name, the geographical location of the dilaect, and the dates of the interviews. Accompanying the notebooks is a handwritten glossary. In preparing the glossary for publication, it was necessary to verify all the glosses and entries, to add a substantial number of entries, and to alphabetize and format the material. The Lue texts also appear in notebooks. Interlinear glosses and free translations were added to these."--P. xix-xx.
