- Summary
- "Originally created by American artist Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978) in New York's SoHo district in spring 1972, Open House is one of the most important objects held by MAMCO Geneva. The piece is the only large-scale work by Matta-Clark to be conserved in a public collection. A container hosts a labyrinth made from recycled wooden doors and partitions: constructed from found materials, Open House is a true artistic manifesto, crystallizing important aspects of Matta-Clark's practice--his engagement with the medium of sculpture and his critical stance in relation to architecture.--Page 4 of cover.
