- Summary
- Gould traces the evolution of the trade union movement prior to the advent of modern legislation, when most laws were judge-made. Then came the National Labor Ralations Act of 1935 which, as amended, remains the most important law governing labor-management relationships. He also discusses the problems of union organizational campaigns to secure the recognition of unions, and the subsequent attempts by labor and management to negotiate collective bargaining agreements.
