Born in March 1966 in Lyubertsy, Russia, in 1999 - 2002 was author of a weekly column in a newspaper, was co-owner of a weekly magazine, since 2007 has been a college professor; in 2008 following the arrest and imprisonment of her husband, Romanova published his jail and founded a non-profit group that documents the mistreatment of prisoners in Russia. In 2017 Romanova has fled to Germany after claiming she was falsely accused of embezzling state funds." --
