- Summary
- "[This book] is a history of the much-feared Butler's Rangers, an American Loyalist unit, who waged a relentless war against the Patriot backed settlements from New York to Kentucky during the American Revolution, 1777-1784. Such engagements as Oriskany, Wyoming, Cherry Valley, the Sullivan Campaign, the destruction of the Schoharie Valley, Blue Licks and many others are covered. The book also deals with the commander of the Rangers, John Butler, and his role at the start of the war to bring the various Iroquois tribes over to the British side"--Page 4 of cover.
