- "Organized through the collaboration of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Yapı Kredi Culture Arts and Publishing, 'This Place', invites the audience to re-think Istanbul from the perspective of ecology by tracing historical and contemporary images. Approaching the city via the historical, cultural, and political transformation of its natural environment, the exhibition includes a selection from the IMM City Museum Collection and Atatürk Library Archives alongside contemporary works of art. 'This Place' presents paintings, calligraphic work, maps, photographs, albums, newspapers, and magazine publications in the IMM archives and collection that reflect daily life and production culture of different periods focusing on the environment and nature in the context of the city of Istanbul. The works by contemporary artists in the exhibition tackle nature, urban ecology, and environmental justice themes through various perspectives"--Publisher's website.
