Summary
Samuel Chamberlaine (1697-1773) was born at Saughall, Cheshire, England, the son of Samuel and Ann Penketh Chamberlaine. He engaged in trade with his father and brother, John, between Liverpool, England, and Oxford, Maryland. He married Mary Ungle (d. 1726), daughter of Robert and Frances Ungle, in 1721, and settled at Oxford, Maryland. He married 2) Henrietta Maria Lloyd, daughter of James and Ann Grundy Lloyd, in 1729. They had seven children. The family lived at "Plaindealing" a plantation across the river from Oxford. He died at Plaindealing. Descendants lived in Maryland and elsewhere.
