His father, Alejandro Ybarra, was a Venezuelan general; his mother, Nelly Russell, was the daughter of an American diplomat. Includes the years 1880-1900 while the family lived in Boston and Caracas, Venezuela. Includes some information on the Russell and Ybarra families.
