  • Paradigm "employs 5 musicians: a percussionist/conductor, electric guitar, and 3 other instrumentalists [violin, clarinet, violoncello; also requires tape recorder]. All have notes to play and words to speak, whisper, or shout." For Algorithms "all the music, both instrumental and electronic, was composed on an IBM-7094 computer. Each movement exists in four versions, any one of which can be chosen for a given performance."
