Summary

Results of a research project to answer questions concerning the potential social and cultural effects that western Alaskan communities might experience in the event of a disruption of the subsistence harvest upon which they rely. Primarily an ethnographic description of the ecological, economic and cultural constraints, both past and present, that circumscribe the harvest of renewable resources by the residents of Alakanuk, Sheldon's Point and Scammon Bay living on or to the south of the Yukon delta.
