- "This book is an abridged form of the larger work mentioned ... and was written at the request of the mangement of the Netherlands trading society. The portraits were executed by Mr. G. Westermann, the reproductions were made by Messrs. L. van Lee & co. and the binding by Messrs. J. Brandt & zoon at Amsterdam; the medal on the title page [bearing the name of the society and dated 1924] was engraved by Mr. J. C. Wiencke and the whole was translated from the Dutch and seen through the press by Mr. E. J. Labarre of Amsterdam."--Verso of last leaf.
