Summary

The third volume to be published in the series of World Atlases of Military History covers all the major and minor wars fought since 1945. The present volume relies much more heavily on textual explanations than was necessary in the previous volumes in the series. Maps of such campaigns as those in Kenya, Malaya, Dhofar or Mauritania, for example, convey little without an explanatory text. So the book can be regarded both as an atlas and a history of conflict in the post-war world.
