- Summary
- One of the main defendants in the Slánský trial of 1952 in Czechoslovakia, Artur London was Deputy Foreign Minister between 1949-51. He recalls his arrest and the trial, ostensibly held by the Czech communist regime against its opponents. Eleven of the fourteen defendants were Jews, and the trial was accompanied by antisemitic and anti-Zionist propaganda. London was sentenced to life imprisonment, but was rehabilitated in 1956; most of the defendants were executed.
