Summary

The catalogue of a travelling exhibition on the genocide of Lithuanian Jews between 1941-44, shown in 1998 at various sites in the area of Wuppertal. Describes the German invasion in summer 1941, the establishment of the ghettos in Kovno and Vilna, the conscription of thousands for forced labor, and the mass massacres of the Jews. In Vilna, 33,000 Jews were murdered during 1941, many of them in Ponar, where mass graves had been prepared. Pp. 41-61 contain photographs of survivors and details on their fate.
