- Summary
- Energy supplies and prices have been recognized as an important international problem ever since the Arab oil embargo of 1973-74. Transportation has been looked upon as one area where considerable conservation could be achieved because as much as 40% of all energy consumed in the US is used to move goods and people. The participants in this discussion represented a diverse set of viewpoints, which contributed to a lively exchange of views on the problems of transportation and energy conservation.
