Summary
Byron Alexander was a biologist whose interests extended far beyond his primary area of research in systematics and behaviour of Hymenoptera. At the time of his tragically premature death on 30 November 1996, Byron was Associate Professor of Entomology and of Systematics and Ecology, and a curator in the Snow Entomological Collection of the Natural History Museum at the University of Kansas. during his brief professional career, Byron published extensively. He had also earned the friendship and respect of a.
