Summary

Discusses the fate of Jewish dermatologists in Nazi Germany. 16% of German physicians in 1933 were Jewish. Among 2,078 dermatologists, 569 were Jews; in certain cities (e.g. Berlin, Frankfurt, Breslau, Hamburg) their share in the field was over 50%. Researches traces of many of the Jewish dermatologists: 57 were murdered in concentration camps, 13 committed suicide, at least 260 emigrated, and the fate of 60 is unknown. Pp. 57-269 contain a list of the German Jewish dermatologists in the Nazi period, according to the towns in which they practiced, with indexes.
