Summary
The author believes that history has meaning only when it is seen in its true light as a path of ever-evolving consciousness. It is within the history of consciousness that the aims of the gods are hidden and progressively realized, and it is in the changes of consciousness that the meaning of historical evolution is perceived. Facts and events are molded into history by the ruling influences of spiritual powers and entities who stand behind the destinies of individuals and nations. It is from this perspective of spiritual history, further inspired and illumined by Rudolf Steiner's science of the spirit, Anthroposophy, that the author approaches the age of Moses. As did Steiner, Bock saw this period as a great transition in mankind's spiritual history, one that influenced all humanity everywhere, shaping the consciousness of more recent epochs.
