Summary

This study used respondents from a sample previously surveyed by the American Council on Education (ACE) in a four-year study of college and university freshmen. Undergraduates were asked to provide information regarding their social and educational backgrounds, as well as their degree and career plans. Questions also elicited students' opinions on their institutions and departments, educational policy in general, and broad social and political issues. Demographic data cover age, sex, race, religion, marital status, birthplace, family income, and parents' levels of education. This study also contains merged data from the previous ACE surveys.
