Summary

Alfred Adler along with his contemporary, Sigmund Freud, are founding figures in the field of psychology and psychotherapy. Although the two were colleagues, Adlerian theory stands in sharp contrast to Freud's early work, and unlike the latter, it has withstood the test of time more effectively regarding its relevance for today's patients and clinicians.
