- Summary
- Newly restored in 1992, the Rookery is one of Chicago's most popular architectural attractions. The building's history of restorations, including an update by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1905, is reviewed in this short picture book. Some of the building's famous highlights include an elaborate oriel staircase, Romanesque arches, Islamic arabesques, and a central court extending the full height of the building. The book is part of a series on Chicago buildings, by the Chicago Architecture foundation. It is not indexed. Annotation (c)2003 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com).
