Summary
A filmed performance of a revised version of John Cranko's original fairy-tale ballet of 1957 to music by Benjamin Britten, with new choreography by Kenneth MacMillan and a rewritten scenario by Colin Thubron. The performance is followed by a second program entitled Out of line, a portrait of Sir Kenneth MacMillan at sixty, which takes the form of lengthy interviews with and comments by MacMillan, Alessandra Ferri, Clive Barnes and others. Also includes filmed excerpts from various ballets created and choreaographed by MacMillan.
