This survey focuses on the state of race relations in the United States and includes a separate survey of blacks who are persistently poor or are part of the so-called " underclass." Variables include racial justice, racial equality, prejudice, bigotry, racial progress, government programs and new legislation. Dates of Collection: June 3 - September 12, 1988. Sorting Data: 1988/06. Size of File: Blacks/Whites/Asian-American: 3,123 adults; Blacks in the Underclass: 347 adults.
